Food Adelaide Finished Food Award (Small) winners Jude and Tim Crowe from Buzz Honey

Established in 2000, Buzz Honey are primary producers and wholesalers of real South Australian honey in seven flavours which are unblended and regional to the State. Employing three FTEs and selling 100% of their honey under their own brand, Buzz Honey exports to Singapore, Indonesia and China. Located in the Adelaide Hills, they have over 600 hives with an annual production of 60 tonnes of honey which is sold to food service, supermarkets and distributors.

Judges Comments

The winners, Buzz Honey demonstrated a passion for their business coupled with a clear vision and direction which was well supported by an up to date business plan. The owners’ focus on and understanding of quality issues at all levels of the business, impressed the judges, as did their high levels of personal commitment and belief in their product. Buzz Honey also demonstrated an understanding of their point of difference in the marketplace and their competitive advantage. The business is to be commended for its initiatives and commitment.
